Millennium Point floor numbers to change

Posted by: Simon on: 18th March, 2008.

It has been in the pipeline for quite a while; they are finally changing the floor number at Millennium Point to be less confusing.  Out are G2, G1, G0, L1, L2, L3 (roof space) and L4 (top of IMAX which can be accessed by the lift next to where iBar used to be) and will change to floors 0-6 (edited as I originally wrote 1 to 7).

When this will happen is anyone’s guess with Millennium Point, a couple of years perhaps.

Of other notes, floors L1 and L2 now have escalators that will automatically start in the direction you want to travel in.  Millennium Square some of the trees have gone and also the green netting and scaffolding has disappeared and new metal plates have appeared under the louvers to catch the glass windows when and if they fall out again.  The fire system is still playing up with smoke screens randomly lowering and ceiling in parts is still likely to fall on someone’s head.

iBar closed on the 7th of March, taken away from the National Union of Students and open for corporate events only.

[...] Millennium Point floor numbers to change Out with G2, G1, G0, L1, L2, L3. In with something that actually makes sense. Sanity! (tags: millenniumpoint logic reason rationality sense) [...]

Goos to see the floor numbers are changing. I’m not sure the details on iBar are right – but I can’t confirm that just now.

iBar has gone and students kindly get turned away (for loitering) from what is there now. As I have been told by the SU and Millennium Point, it is for IMAX or private functions only.
