An update from post “New £multi-million Recording Studios coming to Eastside“. Birmingham City Council have refused the proposal for the seven floor mixed use building (residential, restaurant and recording studios) next to Birmingham Proof House, a weapon testing centre. It has been cited that UB40 may leave Birmingham if the plans are refused. A certain blow to the Birmingham music and creative inustries.
In my opinion I cannot see why this should not go ahead. The Proof House may require acoustic isolation, I have worked on many indoor ranges firing .22 to 5.56mm where chambres have been made where almost all of the sound is isolated wih minimal leakage. Surely the proof House has some sort of indoor isolation chambre?

I’d hate to see them go to, but honestly? I’ve never been their biggest fan….
